Alysa Nahmias has practiced yoga for fifteen years and taught since 2000. Her classes are devoted to presenting yoga in simple, understandable and beneficial ways. She emphasizes breathing, meditation, and Yoga Philosophy as the means toward direct experience of the highest joy. As a filmmaker and an architect, Alysa also finds ways to integrate yoga practice with the creative process and spatial experience. Alysa has studied Sri Vidya and Vedanta with Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati, Vinyasa Krama with Srivatsa Ramaswami, and Iyengar Yoga with Mary Dunn. Her primary teachers are Yogacharya Nishit Patel, Pandit Rolf Sovik and Sandra Anderson of the Himalayan Institute, where she has completed 200-hr certification and advanced teacher training.
